Textum OPCO, LLC is hiring an R&D Engineer for it's Belmont, NC textile manufacturing operation.

Whether it's thermal protection systems for space vehicles, preforms for CMC components, or preforms and fabrics for carbon-carbon processing, we have the experience and expertise to help ensure our customer's success both as a reinforcement provider and through delivery of finished composite parts.
We are looking for a qualified R&D Engineer to support both internally and externally funded research and development activities related to textile design and manufacturing. This role requires a significant level of education and self-direction. The ideal candidate will have experience designing, building, and working with materials; interfacing with vendors, technicians, and peers; and communicating challenges, identifying needs, and formulating plans to overcome those challenges and needs. They will be expected to maintain safety and productivity while working on development and prototyping activities within a production environment. The R&D Engineer will perform a wide variety of hands-on activities including, but not limited to: custom material design, process development, and material fabrication and characterization.
This is a full-time, direct hire position with 1st shift hours.
