We are seeking a detail-oriented QC Artist to join our talented team at Bardel Entertainment. Reporting to the CG Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the final polish of shots and resolving technical issues before rendering and delivery. You’ll collaborate with a skilled team of artists and technical experts to help bring projects to their highest quality.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOINGAnimation Production
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues post-final review without altering the creative direction.
  • Finalize and clean up shots as requested by downstream departments, ensuring adherence to both artistic and technical standards.
  • Resolve geometry, rigging, or animation issues that could impact rendering quality.
  • Make minor character and prop adjustments while preserving the intended visual style.
Collaboration and Feedback
  • Work closely with the CG Supervisor and team to ensure consistent style across all shots.
  • Incorporate supervisor feedback to improve shot quality and address technical concerns.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Animation, CFX, FX, Lighting, and Compositing to ensure a seamless workflow.
Technical Optimization
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during the finaling process.
  • Deliver high-quality work within project deadlines while meeting studio standards.
  • Ensure caches provided to downstream departments are properly organized, optimized, and pipeline-compatible.

WHAT YOU BRING WITH YOUExperience
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in animation or VFX in a similar role.
  • A portfolio demonstrating:
    • General knowledge of modeling, shading, CFX, and lighting.
    • A solid understanding of the principles of animation.
    • Attention to detail and continuity.
    • A basic foundation in Python.
Skills
  • Proficiency in Maya, Katana, and Nuke; familiarity with Houdini is a plus.
  • Scripting knowledge for process automation is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of technical requirements for finalizing shots, including geometry fixes, rigging adjustments, and scene optimization.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Pay Range: CAD $1,200 - $1,500 per week

Your final salary offer will consider various key factors, including your education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographical location, as well as the needs and requirements of the business.
